Lado Sachwadze

Lado Sachwadze, born in Tbilisi in 1997, spent his teenage years in Leipzig. That’s where he successfully dropped out of college first as an art history major, before further getting bored in Vienna despite academic efforts in theater and film studies. Similarly fruitful residences in Georgia for sculptural contemplations were mainly spent singeing cockroaches with matches. After the distress sale of his Complete Works by Proust, he now lives like a king on four fried eggs a week and writes, while dreaming of Southern France – nothing but a cool sheet to hide from all the crap.

As the self-proclaimed first poet of nihilism, not to mention the last true surrealist, Sachwadze has proved incapable of producing a novel so far. Though he might just find his work ethic on a coffeehouse toilet lid any day now, unless he follows through on his cynicisms before. In the meantime, you’ll just have to make do with his poems. Which are a thing of beauty in their own right. You could totally print them on clothing to hang from washed-up models as a flimsy aestheticization of the author’s anorexia and drug abuse. Instead, BHN Books prints a three-volume collection of them on paper, which is published under the brazen title “0.33/Heroin”.
