Hermann Borgerding, born 20 years and 5 days after Keith Richards, the year the first Stones single was released. School, Civilian Service, studies in German, education, social pedagogy. Then package stacker for UPS, pharmacy courier, taxi driver and freelancer at youth welfare centers. Singer in a punk rock band, guitarist and song writer. Further training to become a nurse, practical instructor, geriatric caretaker.
First published poems. In the 1990s co-editor of the literature and art magazine “3D-Silbig”. Numerous readings and publications since. Alleged veteran of the Social Beat scene.
2007 he’s hit with a nasty case of mouth cancer. Borgerding receives 13 hours of surgery and wakes up without upper jaw, throat lymph nodes or teeth. A new life begins – as invalidity pensioner and full-time writer. Since autumn 2014, he lives in exile in Germany’s remote Münsterland region.
Borgerding regularly publishes his thoughts and opinions on anything in his blog.
